Each stop has a collage of newspaper articles about the event, location, or person. These articles were pulled from a digital library. Important headlines are larger for readability. An old newspaper texture/color are overlayed to stay in the historical feel. The collages help to show the significance of each stop and gives the book tonality.
The Civil Rights Tour of Louisville tells the often-overlooked story
of segregation that has been overcome in Louisville, Kentucky.
Even though many of the locations have been relocated,
torn down, or closed, there are historical markers placed to keep
the history alive. This is a self-guided tour for locals or people
visiting town.
The task was to create a book that can assist people taking this
self-guided tour. Information provided within the book was
compiled by the Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research.
